Privacy policy

Reachback helps college students keep track of their professional network and recruiting. This page explains what we collect, why, who else touches it, and how to delete it. The short version: your data is yours, it's private to your account, we don't sell it, and you can delete all of it at any time.
What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and password (stored hashed, never readable by us).
- Profile: school, graduation year, major, career goal and time zone, if you add them.
- What you put in the app: contacts and notes about them, applications, calendar events, chats with the coach, things you ask the coach to remember, and your resume if you upload one.
- Images you scan: business cards or screenshots are read to fill in a contact and then discarded. We don't store them.
- Basic usage counts: how many AI scans and drafts you use each day, so we can apply fair daily limits.
We don't use advertising trackers, we don't sell or rent your data, and we don't share it for marketing.
How we use it
Only to run Reachback for you: showing your network, reminding you when to follow up, syncing your calendar if you turn that on, and answering your questions in chat with your own information as context.
Who else handles it
We use a few providers to run the app. Each only gets what it needs:
- Supabase stores your account and data (hosted in the United States).
- Vercel hosts the website.
- Anthropic (Claude) powers chat, email drafts and scanning. When you use those features, the relevant information (for example your question, your profile and the contact you're emailing) is sent to Anthropic to generate a response. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
- Logo.dev receives company names you search for so we can show company logos.
Information about other people
Contacts you add are people you know or want to meet. Only add information you've legitimately received (for example from their business card, a public profile or a conversation). Contacts are visible only to you.
Security
Every row of data is locked to your account at the database level, so other users can't see it. Uploaded files are in private storage. You're signed out every 30 days. Your calendar sync link is private; you can reset it in Settings if it's ever shared.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete individual contacts, chats and memories at any time, and you can delete your whole account in Settings → Account → Delete account. That permanently removes your account and everything in it from our database right away.
Age
Reachback is for college students and is not meant for anyone under 13.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant. Questions? Email reachback.apphq@gmail.com.
